Journaling by 5s - Part 3

This one was really really tough for me! Stamps and stencils are not something I use at all. I've also seen them as a waste of money because I prefer to draw or paint the images I want. With the 15 minute time constraint, plus my lack of experience, this was a tough round for me! Stamping and stenciling always seemed pretty self-explanatory, but clearly it takes a little finesse. Even though this didn't turn out the way I hoped, I'm still loving this process and I'm excited to continue. I'm learning so much!

Journaling by 5s - Part 2

I'm back with the second installment of Joaurnaling by 5s - collage and using recycled materials. This was tough for me! I don't do a ton of collage, so my inexperience coupled with the very short clock was stressful! I'm still excited about where this project will go! The next step is stamps & stencils - another big challenge for me because I do (and have) very little of either, but I'll come up with something creative. Enjoy, and stayed tuned for Part 3!

Yearbook Journal Flip

Here's a quick flip of a finished journal. This is an old high school yearbook I picked up at an estate sale. It's really great because it has all of the signatures in it. I bought two of these at the same time - they belonged to a brother & sister - and I'm currently working my way through the 2nd one. This was my first "real" art journal. I've been keeping a daily visual journal several years, and I write and draw about each day of my life. Those books are much more purposeful, and I use them specifically to be a chronicle of my life. This book was just art for art's sake. It was really fun to just make a mess and experiment with color and media and texture. I hope you enjoy this! Please like, comment, and subscribe. :)
