Journaling by 5s - Part 2

I'm back with the second installment of Joaurnaling by 5s - collage and using recycled materials. This was tough for me! I don't do a ton of collage, so my inexperience coupled with the very short clock was stressful! I'm still excited about where this project will go! The next step is stamps & stencils - another big challenge for me because I do (and have) very little of either, but I'll come up with something creative. Enjoy, and stayed tuned for Part 3!

Yearbook Journal Flip

Here's a quick flip of a finished journal. This is an old high school yearbook I picked up at an estate sale. It's really great because it has all of the signatures in it. I bought two of these at the same time - they belonged to a brother & sister - and I'm currently working my way through the 2nd one. This was my first "real" art journal. I've been keeping a daily visual journal several years, and I write and draw about each day of my life. Those books are much more purposeful, and I use them specifically to be a chronicle of my life. This book was just art for art's sake. It was really fun to just make a mess and experiment with color and media and texture. I hope you enjoy this! Please like, comment, and subscribe. :)

Journalling by 5s - Part 1

I decided to try out Shannon Green's "Journal by 5s" idea. It's definitely not the way I typically work - it feels very frenzied and chaotic to try to accomplish so much in a short time, but it's also really fun! I'm excited to see how this journal ends up, and I'm looking forward to the next parts of the process. It'll be a few days before I get back to it, though.

This is my first video like this, and I must say, it was fun! Plus, bonus points for using the word "turd"!

If you want to know more about Journaling by 5s, watch Shannon's video here: http://youtu.be/P0ohBQFKqus. SEE YOU SOON!
